Default Minor white spots / scratches in the car paint - how serious is it?

Hello Rennlisters,

I am (still) looking for a Porsche to buy and I encountered a very nice Targa 4S. From the pictures, I can see there are a minor white spots / scratches on the rear bumper. I just want to ask what is your opinion on those - whether it suggest something more serious and how to potentially fix it (how costly it can be).

Make sure you get the car inspected especially by someone who can spot signs of a previous crash... If that paint is flaking off then it could be a previous paint job gone bad due to a rear-end collision. That's a big maybe, however. Could also just be due to improper washing methods and improper use of a car cover.

Find someone with a paint meter who can take measures around the car as well... Although that will not work on the bumpers bc they are metal.

Almost looks like bird droppings. But I'd get a PPI, make sure car hasn't been in an accident and if so you negotiate accordingly.
