I want to add BT connectivity but as I found out I need to have CD changer (CDC) for the Bluetooth gateway (Mr12Volts) to work. Since the car is currently at the dealership I asked them to activate the CDC but as they told me the tech couldn’t do it without the CDC being connected (it responds with not found and will not let them activate it because it's not there. There's a wiring harness that comes with the changer that does not exist in my car).
1) Does anyone know if I need to have the CDC connected in order to activate the CDC function or if when I connect the BT gateway (Mr.12Volts) the PIWIS will think that it’s a CDC and will be able to activate the unit?
I know my question is very specific but I want to make sure I get done with this next time I’m at the dealership so I’m questioning if I should just buy a CDC (these days can be easily found used under $100) in order to make the Bluetooth work.
2) Additionally does anyone know what kind of cables do I need to connect a CDC? I’m curious if the cables coming with the Mr.12Volt gateway would be sufficient or if I’ll need to buy another cable - just to clarify I don’t want to permanently connect the CDC just to temporarily power it up
and connect it in case I need to, just to activate the BT gateway.
I also know that I can connect a new stereo for a fraction of the cost but I do like the factory oem look inside out. I was able to get the rennlist car mount and connect it to an inductive MagSafe charger so if I manage to have BT connectivity I’ll be extremely happy and 100% covered for anything I need since - let’s face it our phones are much better for navigation and music that any car system.

when you say battery charger… do you mean the 12v outlet in the passenger foot well?
(this is awesome, btw. The saetchi mounts to the same size ball as what comes on the rennline mount?)
You are correct on both, I meant the 12v outlet by the passenger footwell, and the saetchi and rennlist mounts have both the same size ball attachment.
fyi if you are also planning to use the Mr.12Volt BT adapter you can utilize the USB outlet from that instead of buying the 12v-5v suv-c charger.

Have installed changer, but have no luck with CDR CDC function. Have made coding for cd changer install but still not work.
Where can be problem?
