Default 2010 C2S Coupe Manual...may trade

I may regret this, but I am thinking of trading in my Atlas Grey 6 Spd .2 S. Excellent condition, 26K miles, 3 owner, $100K sticker. Sharkwerks bypass, fister mod side cans, RSS motor mounts, Numeric Shifter, Eibach Springs, RSS Toe Links....and, probably some other stuff I am forgetting. For me, it is pretty much the perfect 911 and I may end up keeping it, but I have the car bug. What do you think is the right number on a trade?

I would say that the right number is $35,000.

And, I'll take it.

Couple thoughts. As always, others may disagree and there are exceptions, but if you’re talking about trading to a dealer for something else in the traditional sense, whatever the prevailing wholesale MMR auction number in your area will be is your general range. Higher in some regions, lower during certain (current) times of year. Look at KBB, edmunds, etc to get your “trade in value”…expect something near that, give or take. Original MSRP is irrelevant and for most, so are the mods. In fact, those can detract for a number of buyers…consider reverting back to stock to the extent you can.

If you want to “trade” to get something different, BaT. Look at prior auction results. You’ll get a good idea of the range that buyers are willing to pay these days. Be prepared to wait until you can list, take excellent photos and gather all of the car’s documentation. I have a hard time believing we will continue to see the astonishing amount of buyers willing to overpay for everything collectible across the board like we have, but this is still a great place to get maximum eyeballs on your car.

Good luck and remember: they ain’t investments but if you buy and sell right, you’ll be happy with the whole ownership and transaction experience.
