I am trying to replace my stock C2S exhaust tips and am literally stuck with one (the other came off fine). No matter what I do I cannot get the tip off the car. I can remove the bolt no problem and the tip moves around easy, but it won't come past the olive/clamp (which itself doesn't seem to move).

I tried for 30 mins, pulling it around. I've blasted it with lubricating oil (UK equivalent of PB plaster) but that doesn't help much.

Any ideas, please?

Thanks for the reply. In terms of heat, I do have a heat gun but I don't really have access to a ramp. I take it I should just heat the clamp from underneath being ultra careful not to go near the bumper?

 

This happened to me once. I had success when I used large screwdrivers to pry it open then beat on it with a rubber mallet.

 

I would soak it with pb blaster and let it sit over nite. and then hammer or pry it till it comes off. anything in the exhaust with all that heat swells and distorts. So you have to compensate

 

I managed to get it off but, oh wow, what a pig. I dread to think how many hours it took..

I soaked it several times with PB blast (or our UK equivalent) and then used a chisel to tap the olive from behind. It eventually gave in.

Got the black tips on and they look great.
