Default Reputable shipping companies

Can anyone recommend a reputable shipping company for transport? It is hard to sift through all these brokers acting like they are the trucking company too. The company I have used in the past unfortunately does not do this route.

Thanks!

I used a broker when I had my 997.2 C2S shipped from ATL to CLE. It was bears transport. From my understanding, the dealer only uses this broker. They did a great job and in reality, the shipping was the easiest part of that transaction as the rest of it did not go so well. Then two of my friends used them shipping from CLE to SAN (at different times). Both also had good luck. I noticed they're also a sponsor now on Rennlist.

If you'd rather not use a broker, the typical suggestions are going to apply from most people, Intercity, Reliable, Plycar, Pilot. I don't have experience with any of them.

I guess if you work with a broker they put it out to bid so maybe used Uship.com. Who you get may be the luck of the draw. I used a broker for a Messerschmitt and they damaged it.

If you want the company to operate their owns trucks and drivers, that's tougher. Reliable, Intercity, are good. At this moment I have a car coming through a company named thetowguy.com thetowguy.com They're used by Copley West copleywest.com and they do some high end stuff. Presently they were handling a tour for Bentley.

I’ve had very good experiences with Ace American Transport (based in Vegas).

Highly recommend Liz at Bears Transport. She is a reliable broker, and a Rennlist Sponsor. (847) 810-7641. Etbears022@gmail.com

2009 C2S 174K miles

I just contacted my local Porsche dealer and they gave me the name of a broker they use often. This broker handles a few different dealerships in the area. (In other words, the brand is irrelevant.) Brokers are it... forget trying to find some white glove service. They are out there but you will pay big bucks, and for what? The Porsche dealer, you know, the seller of Faberge Eggs, uses a broker.

I found a broker that will move me Philly to Atlanta for $750. The going rate for this move is around $850.... it comes down to $ per mile... then the broker can tweak from there... figure anywhere between $1.00 to $1.20 per mile.

BTW, companies with employees are over... on their way out.... it is the gig economy .... the way it is going. This is one of the many reasons Congress is trying to move us away from employer-sponsored healthcare and the like.

Peace
Bruce in Philly

+1 for Bears! Highly recommend. Liz has received many other referrals on this forum. She helped to schedule transportation from my daughter's Jeep...and I'll definitely be scheduling with her again for our Macan in the fall (and also for the 997.2 C4S in the future -- although it is staying put for the moment

Just want to add another recommendation for Bears Transport. Shipped from Austin, TX to Chicago, IL in perfect condition and at half the price of some other big name shippers. Will definitely use Bears again when needed.
