Hey Guys,

I am wanting to start a discussion on a topic I have been tossing around for weeks now. This is a battle I deal with weekly and I am having a hard time on weighing out the pros and cons to my conundrum.

My family is moving across the country and I have a few cars I am planning on selling. This is what has sparking my internal debate as selling one would help lighten the load of transporting multiple cars. Currently looking at transporting 5 cars.

Two of the cars in question are the Porsches listed below. The problem I find myself in is, I am having a hard time letting one go as I feel either one will be equally hard to obtain again in the future. Due to values or spec/options. Owning both will not affect our move.

Based off just model and colors alone which one would be a keeper and which one would get the boot ?
Am I crazy ? should this be an easy decision ?

Forest Green w/ terracotta interior X51 Carrera S 35k miles
or
Arctic Silver .1 GT3 34k miles

I was afraid of guys like you. Thanks ! Thats been my latest consensus but wife thinks otherwise ha ! She is indifferent but we all know that means "sell both".

 

Incredible set of cars, that X51 might be a 1 of 1 or similar - I've never seen one like it in that spec and it's lovely! The 997 GT3 is going to be easier to find, but it's one of the best driver's cars, ever.

If you can afford to keep both, I'd do that!

 

gt3 will be easier to find but will values continue to rise given what's going on with RS's ? The x51 car is unbelievable and sparks conversation every time it sees the road.

Keep both but if you have to choose, GT3 because GT3! The 997 GT3 will become, if it hasn't already, a classic. The X51 is special and unique, but it's no GT3. There may be more GT3s but they will only go up in value and cost. If you sell and ever want to get another one, you will regret selling.

 

With the way prices are trending, paying to move both will pay you back in multiples.

Congats on having two really special 997's. I'd hold on tight to both.

But seriously, dibs on the x51!

 

The fact that your having to battle which to let go and as you said, keeping both will not affect your move, its pretty simple. Keep both. When you look back someday {and you will} you'll be glad you kept both. But on the upside. Should you let one go, 997 prices are climbing and man do you have 2 sweeeeet 997's.
I'm glad I'm not in your shoes. My vote is keep both.

 

GT3 sure is special and due to increase in value.

If it's that hard to decide, and keeping and moving them is no issue, you should do exactly that - keep em and move em both. You don't want to regret selling a car you really love especially when the values are increasing!

 

then you'll have to build your 4.1L to keep up with me at VIR

 

But is this just a bubble ? they surely can't continue to rise like this year after year. If so we need to all go out and buy GT cars at MSRP now!
