Default OBDII Scanner Recommendation

I am looking for a scanner for my 2011 997.2. I have had an Actron scanner for years for all my other cars, but I am anticipating it isn't advanced enough for my 997.2. I am interested in what forum members use.

Thanks.

To be a little more specific, I am looking for something more than a trouble code scanner. It would good if I could reset the oil change interval, and pull ABS, Transmission, and SIR codes also.

I've seen Foxwell mentioned many times in this and the 996 forum. https://rennlist.com/forums/981-foru...er-review.html

definitely Durametric, otherwise the Foxwell 520 Pro is a good lower priced alternative

It has many negative reviews on internet with many complaining about poor customer service. Durametric is an Oregan company with excellent customer service if you have any issues.

The Durametric is great. You can use a Mac but they don't offer support for them. I bought a used Toughbook that's my dedicated 911 set up.

I also use a BlueDriver for codes and resets. It uses a BlueTooth app to your phone screen and is very convenient. Works on virtually any car sold in NA and Europe. Check it out on Amazon.

My children bought me a Blue Driver for Fathers Day. It is great. I use it to check coded and monitor fuel trims quarterly on all my vehicles including my Porsches. Not as detailed as my Durametric but it works on everything quickly.

Anyone using a Foxwell FW601 and a Dash Command app? Does it reset the service warning?

It’s just a code reader. I use another BT dongle with dashcommand. You can read and clear trouble codes, and do some monitoring like real time mpg, but it doesn’t do service resets. You need a 530 for that.

I bought the Durametric 6 software and can't find the new battery reset menu. Can someone guide me to it?
