Advice needed. market price for 997.1
I'm looking at a 997.1 4S, 6 speed with full factory aero with 70,000 miles, asking price is $55k. Car has 3 owners, current just purchased less than 6 months ago, other two owners were from a single family. Most of the miles were put on by the original owner than driven about 1700 miles per year. Maintenance seems to be mainly up to date date, but appears to need water pump and serpentine belt due to age.
Is this a fair price or high based upon the miles? Thanks for your advice.

4S is more desirable. But the miles are holding it back.
I think there are lower mileage examples out there for the same money. If you are set on the aerokit then sometimes you have to pay to play because they are rare.

That mileage is not that bad. Even if it’s an 08 it’s around 5k a year. More important is how much wear it has. Seats and paint mainly. Additionally major service it’s such as clutch and fly wheel, plugs, coil packs , brakes and tires. If you pay 55k and all of that was recently done then it turns into a good deal. If you pay that and she’ll out 5-10k more in maintenance then not so much.
Most important is if the car is what you want. At that price it should check all of your box’s. The car is not an investment but you won’t want to be thinking that you settled at that number.

Historical data to educate yourself on what these have been selling for (add 5% buyers fee to these prices)

I am about to sell my 08 997.1 C4S Cab Manual with some nice options and 32k miles and I am expecting to get close to $60k given the current market. The mileage on that does seem higher, but not unreasonably priced for what you mentioned. Currently a bit of a sellers market and has trickled down into the 997.1s and is not just reserved for the 997.2s anymore. I don't expect prices to get better, as there are more and more buyers and with fairly scarce inventory (especially on the 6 speed MT side), when you find what you want, be prepared to act.

In the current market, $50k is a decent deal if the car is nice.
You guys estimating it at under 50, have you been watching prices lately? Sales from last summer are no longer relevant; the market is taking off.

Right or wrong, the mileage holds it back from premium money. I assume this is a coupe. W/o the aero kit this would be $42-45K car. The aero kit is rare and can jack the price
by $5K or more. My recommendation would be to figure out whether the car has been maintained to enthusiast's standards (which at this mileage should probably include the water pump as preventive maintenacnce, as well as plug changes two times.).

How much would you pay to not lose the car? If the answer is a few grand (and maybe even less given it has the rare full factory aero option you covet), then you should consider it an investment in your happiness.
It's a little premium judging by where the rising market currently sits, but not too high if it's the car you want (and the PPI checks out).
Good luck—hope you get what you want!
