Default Computer Reset

I have a 2006 997S with 86k miles. There are a few odd issues that I believe are computer related. For example, the memory button on seats works but I cannot reprogram. If I hold buttons they take me to where its programed and I can make it beep by holding down, but it will not allow me to reprogram. In order to open sunroof I first have to tilt the back up, close it then open the sunroof. I did the sunroof reprogram and it does now open all the way. But I still have to go through the sequence. I cannot get the previous owner key program to reset, so every time the seat and mirrors go to their setting. The door lock with physical key does not work (may not be related). Is there a way to reset the electrical system or computer, anything I can try to fix these issues?

Check under the seat for anything disconnected there, its a longshot but possible if you have been adjusting things. I believe there is also the module where all of this lives is down there. The next step would probably be to interrogate with a code reader.

FWIW my personal settings for each key has never worked properly, I believe this is a common problem. The door buttons do work as expected for preset positions.

2009 C2S 170K miles

With a Durametric, you can set the various control boxes... and reset the whole car. Maybe that would work.

Its possible that certain modules may not be functioning correctly or have coding issues. If you have someone with a Durametric Pro or similar tester you can see if there are errors that can be cleared. In addition there is a "Handover" procedure a dealer (or Indy repair shop with PIWIS) can perform that resets the system back to factory defaults and clears all stored user settings.
