Airbox Sound Package Upgrade SKU: SKU997G2S

"A factory upgrade for some models. Some models have noise restriction caps on the bottom of the airbox, this replaces the black caps with heat resistant screens which allow for more sound to be released from the intake. We have noticed louder engine sounds during revving and low speed acceleration. Before ordering, check your airbox and see if you have these white screens or black plastic caps on the bottom of your airbox. Where can you buy this from? My .1 has a breathable nylon screen on the bottom of the airbox.

I did the CAplug Helmholtz bypass mod. That added a nice deep intake sound after 4500 rpms.

I think it was called the motor sound package on 993's. They make it for 997??

My base 997.2 with the factory PSE has this clear section in the airbox.

My base C2 2009 non- PSE car has it as well...

I don’t think this works on any 997.1 airbox, in case anyone with a .1 is looking to replace a torn screen with this.

My 2010 as well although when I learned about it I had to go look on the airbox to see if I had it. Maybe it sounds great compared to stock but I’ve never heard stock so who knows.

This is interesting. I recently replaced my air filters and noticed it did not have these screens, only hard black plastic in place of it.

Mine is a 2011 C2S. Were the screens an option, or maybe it was left off because it’s a cab?

Either way, I’m curious if anyone who didn’t have the screens originally added them and noticed any difference in sound.

my 2010 C2S is a Cabriolet and does have the screens in the air box.

Yes, that’s the screen. It’s much whiter brand new. It’s basically there to create a sonically transparent window.
