Default Simple Bluetooth Adapter

Has anyone used a product like this?
Amazon Amazon

I'm not interested in an audio upgrade.... I'm just looking for a simple solution that allows me to take calls via Bluetooth and listen to Spotify on occasion.

If the 997.1 unit has a USB socket, you would be all set. If not, you could use a cigarette lighter 12volt to 5 volt (USB) adapter for the power required by this device. For $15, I would try it.

Yes, I bought one of these a few months ago. I hooked it up with an Itransit adapter on a stock 997.1 stereo. It’s been working flawlessly since day 1. For $15, why not give it a shot.

I use a cheap FM bluetooth transmitter that works great with very good sound quality. I like keeping the stock oem look of the center console and I just plug this into the arm rest.

Product is called Anker Roav Smartcharger.

I have that on a 997.2, definitely works for music. Works for call but have never taken a call. My car is pretty loud so not sure how well that all works but it does work.

I’ve had this one that plugs into the aux port in a few different cars.

Sound quality is top notch.

It has a puck that skips back and forward with tracks and pressing it stops and plays the music.

Plus it handles calls.

Seen at the bottom of the pic below.

Bought this in January and very happy with the result.

It's kind of clever (usb for power and jack for the audio input. Very compact and nice look. You can even choose the color.

Of course this is just a dummy aux streaming, meaning you'll need to use your smartphone to navigate, and no data at all will shop up on the PCM screen.

How do you get this device to work on the 997.1 without an AUX jack? Do you use a cig lighter adapter with the 3.5 jack and usb port or does this have to plug directly into the unit (997.2) ?

I don’t know if that would work on a 997.1 because there is no aux plug. I installed the Tranzit Blu on my 997.1 and it’s been working well

I used one of these for Bluetooth streaming and it works perfectly. I set my phone to stream audio through the Ugreen adapter but retain calls through the PCM Bluetooth connection. Works great. I can run Google maps on the phone and the audio goes through the Ugreen adapter so can have audio nav instructions and see the phone in a mount.
