Post 997.2 CS2 just more lively

Just joined rennlist so hope it is ok to start this thread to share experience.

I have purchased a 997.2 CS2 and it was just I wanted south of a gts. 2 wheels, 6 speeds and mechanical direction. From there I was looking for a more sporty sound without making it too loud. Went for Carnewal GT exhaust without the center muffler bypass. The car goes through inspections in EU (with warm engine) as stock since the exhaust is based on a modified 997.2 exhaust. As an unplanned benefit I also realized a significant weight reduction right where it is most needed. I could not say if I gained any hp, but the engine does seems to give a small extra kick when passing 2000rpm. My guess is it is programmed for more pressure resistance with the standard side mufflers and adjust slightly when is sense there is more opening.
The engine sounds very crisp with a higher pitch on all rpms.

You can hear before and after cold starts here:

As I wanted a more lively feel inside as well, I also changed the engine support to RS motor mounts still from Carnewal. Did it myself. Was very easy so a mechanic would probably need max 1 hour to do for you otherwise. When switching to sport mode with pasm the car feels race car sharp while still getting a good level of comfort is normal mode.
The hole set-up raise excitement right from any engine start.

Hope this helps people looking into giving more edge to their 997.2 while keeping everything as stock as possible.
Frankly the car was already near perfect before but just a little bit too GT and these fixed this.

I love my RS mounts too, the extra fiz and directness. She's alive!
Just be aware there is a technical update for the support washers, upsized to 45.5mm, the purpose is to stop the cupped washer to permanently deflect and bend up if the car "Gs out" in a dip etc.
4 per car needed.

This is 964 RS mount with updated washer.

From a PCNA technical doc. 911 (993) 1/99 1035

interesting to see the lights flicker on start up. Never knew that would be the case.

Yes that is it. I don’t take it out so much and sometimes run it down a bit too low..
