I think dark wheels are overplayed. I'm having custom black CCW wheels powder coated a very metalic silver. Some may think I'm wrong and making a mistake. I had many sets of anthracite or a similar color. During bright sunshine, they look fantastic but less so in lower light unless it is exclusively on a light colored car. Silver almost always looks good even on silver cars where you'd think it may fade away.

Personally I like the darker Titanium, if you are like me they do not show brake dust as much as the lighter one's, less time cleaning for more time driving !

Be aware that Ti, although very stable, will continue to oxidize over time. Initially, there is a 1 to 10 nm layer of Titanium dioxide covering the surface; this layer of oxidation increases in thickness as a rate of approximately 0.02 mm per year. The thicker the layer of oxidation, the darker the Ti will appear. That said, I have 26 and 19 year old Ti bicycles (3Al/2.5v alloy) that, after all this time appear between a half and quarter shade darker. The point is, the Ti wheels will get slightly darker but perhaps not enough to notice.
