PCM delete easy?
Since I'm not getting any sound out of the PCM and I don't care about maps, I would like to remove the PCM head unit from my car and replace it with the stowage compartment from the factory radio delete option M609.
Is it as easy as removing the head unit and replacing it with the stowage part? I'm worried about not being able to access some car configuration menus. Would the car electronics need to be reprogrammed to a non-PCM state?
Many thanks.
PS. The gear lever boot in this picture (not my car) is also annoying me...

I know that this thread is a bit old, but I was wondering what (if any) error lights/codes are sent to the dash if you don't have the ability to code out the pcm? (I only have the enthusiast Durametric).

Removing the PCM will not trigger any lights on the dash, however you will see an error code if you scan the system.
