Default Changing leather color on shift ****?

Finally found the X97 shift **** I have always wanted, but it’s in black and I have a sand beige interior. It’s really nicely weighted and looks very cool in person. Anyone know how I can redye it or disassemble the **** so that I can get the leather portions redone in beige? Thanks in advance.

Try colorplus.com. I doubt that the water based dye will stick to metal, so disassembly won't be necessary. Also leatherique.com.

Colourlock and Swissvax both have options for leather dye. Their kits are very good from what I hear.

Thanks! Just concerned about being able to cover the black.

If you were going from Sand Beige to Black, I think you might be able to accomplish that. I think there's no way to do the reverse.

Maybe you can get a leather specialist to redo the leather. Certainly would add cost, but if you really like that style ****, it may be worth it. Might talk with Don Le @ Dallas Custom Steering Wheel.

You can easily replace the leather inserts. Just buy very thin, sand beige (or close) leather. I've done this.

Thanks, I agree. I don’t think you can go from black to beige. I’m gonna have to get the leather redone in beige I think. Thanks for the links.

Color Plus says that you can go from dark to light. Check the FAQ.

If that **** comes apart, I'd call Don at Dallas Custom Steering wheels. He can remove and add any color you like.
