Purchasing 997.2

Hi - I am looking at buying a 2009 911 S. I’m new to Porsches and curious to know if this is a good deal? I currently have an Audi A4 that’s depreciating like a brick so looking to get into something fun that will hold its value better. Again, totally new to these cars so curious to know about reliability, annual maintenance, additional insurance options that I can purchase perhaps through Porsche like you can with Audi. Any guidance on this would be much appreciated! https://www.lifetimeautomotivegroup....e-911/70132788

Overpriced.
Black on black combo, PDK, from a dealer, 53k and 55k miles - not very desirable. That car as private party would be 45k at most. Way better cars out there.

quick look but it has few options, and no valid description and it sounds too hi to me. Try looking on the porsche cpo web site and get comparisons You have to know alot more about a car than this before you buy one. They are expensive to fix

Agree with the other comments that this one looks slightly overpriced. I would suggest that you keep in mind mileage when assessing your depreciation benefits vs the Audi, if this is going to be a daily. While it's true these things hold their value well, they will still depreciate significantly if you put major mileage on them. A lot of buyers will shy away from high mileage cars. I have over 100k miles on mine now and it has of course depreciated quite a bit from when I bought it with 50k on it. If I had parked it in the garage and only driven it on PCA drives I'd probably be breaking even, but what's the fun in that?

Price is a bit high for a black/black. Here is an example of a PDK .2 C2 and C2S. Higher mileage but gives you a better idea on prices.

Concur with the others on the thread - this car is on the low end of ordinary and it is significantly over-priced.
Paying too much for a 911 is not a cardinal sin. Buying a comparatively poor example, and on top of that paying too much for it would be a decision you would come to bitterly regret I think.
Aim higher. You can find a much better car than this - and quite probably for significantly less.

Just an FYI that while both links visually look different, they actually both point to the following, which is a base 2009 C2 w/PDK (WP0AA29939S706153) at 68,496 miles for $38,590 (detailing for anyone reading this after the CL link expires).
https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sf...225973541.html
Extracting the second link, that's a 2012 C2S w/PDK (WP0AB2A93CS720747) at 61,390 miles for $52,995

Fidelity warranties are offered for Porsche as well. On Audi it is branded as the Audi Pure Protection program, underwritten by Fidelity. If buying a PDK car or concerned about maintenance costs, get one. But on a higher mileage car, pricing is going to start becoming really high for the warranty.
If you take your car to the dealer, parts pricing will be a shock compared to Audi even. Along with labor and service pricing. If you go to an independent, it won't be considerably higher.
If you're mainly concerned about getting something more enjoyable and something that won't depreciate as much, you may want to look into something like a B7 RS4 as well or an E92 M3. Not trying to talk you out of the Porsche, but there are cars out there that may be a good step between the A4 and 911 depending on what your use of the car is. B7 RS4 or E92 M3 is going to be expensive to maintain, but a bit less so than the 911, even when factoring in redoing the suspension on a B7 RS4 or doing rod bearings on an E92 M3.
For reference, I have a 2011 S4 as a daily driver, which was dealer maintained for many years and also through an independent. Have had it 7 years, so I'm familiar with the brand.

Regardless of pricing being high doesn’t have sport chrono, PASM, or PSE. You’ll spend lot of money to add sport (needed for PDK), suspension mods, and exhaust mods. Others pointed out maintenance, may need plugs/coils ($3-400 DIY/1300 Indy), air filters ($80 or so DIY), PDK fluid change ($700 Indy), front brakes ($120 pads /2-250 rotors DIY, 1k per wheel Indy), and maybe tires ($3-400 mounted/balanced ea).
