2011 GTS Value worth the $$
38k Miles, GT Silver over Black, Six Speed Cab. I suspect this would be a decent upgrade over an 07 Cab S? Figure it would cost me $30k to do the deal
They are very desirable and hold their value. If it’s worth the upgrade cost is subjective and only you can answer that question.
For me having a C4s is plenty of car. It scratches all the right itches for me. This is not to say that I don’t look at turbos or older air cooled cars or newer 991s. I just feel like I’m satisfied and that the only way I would get out of my 997 is to move up or down the time line not with in it for a car that is so similar.

I have two dailies now, the 07s and a 2016 650i. My thought is to consolidate into one 911 because I hate leaving one outside, and I also have a 2017 Cayenne (wife's but she is retired and rarely drives) and a 1995 Corvair. I figure the 2 cars are worth $70k (paid for). I have been looking at 997s and 991s, nothing has struck me in the 70-80k range yet.
When I decided to sell my 2006 C2S mt cab, I quickly found a 2009 Turbo mt cab that pushed all the right buttons for me and I bought it. My "logic" is that the 2009 turbo will always be worth that differential cost over my previous car and that seems to be true. The Turbo is a ball and is priced around what that GTS is priced. You might want to try one.

You can find 2011/2012 GTS 997.2’s under 20,000 miles if you search often. $65k is a great price for that low mileage.
After losing my ‘11 GTS, I test drove other 997’s, 991.1, 991.2, and the new 992. I liked the GTS 997.2 feel the best, so I found another and bought it. Haven’t looked back.

You could accomplish the same thing just by selling the 650i. And BOOM, you're 30K richer with a car you already know. Use some of the 30K to upgrade the audio. Of course realizing that some of the 30K you saved is already in your bank account.

The GTS suspension is less compliant than your S. And if it has the sports suspension option it will be more so. To many this is a good thing, but not everyone. I went from a 2007 C4S to a 2012 GTS w/o Sports Suspension and it is noticeable. Not a problem for me because I don't commute on these crappy California roads.
The GTS is money in the bank.

If you want a Porsche to be your one car I'd consider the GTS. I think it will have a more substantial, special feel to it vs the 997.1 as far as the interior and overall appearance. I haven't driven a 997.1 to comment on that part.
I have a 2012 GTS w/ sports suspension. Definitely was firm stock, but perfect after putting on a DSC controller.
Might consider selling it later in the year if anyone is interested. Likely will move to a location where I can’t have two cars. Having a warranty on it has saved me, recently had a over $5000 power steering hose change. Just paid the $300 deductible. Still have 3.5 years left.

The GTS is a great car, I love mine. It's worth the money in my opinion but I disagree aith the post claiming one with under 20k can be had for $65k or less. At least not for a well sorted one. Anything with that mileage are listed for mid to upper 70's.
I would recommend the DSC though. I too noticed the suspension was stiffer than other models. Not a bad thing, just something to keep in mind.

2012 4GTS 19,000 miles purchased summer of 2020 for $66k.
But yes, the majority are advertised for mid $70’s, you just gotta make it a daily search. They don’t last long.
