Default Center console paint questions.....

Sanded, sprayed one coat lightly, sprayed a second coat, and finish I would say is overall pretty damn rough feeling. I have A few shiny spots, and a few rough spots. I have yet to wet sand but want to keep water droplets from being evident on the underside of the console. I have 1000 through 3500 grit. I know to sand wet, wipe down with alcohol, and spray again. Was this everyone else’s experience with the roughness of the first coat or two? Just wanna make sure I’m not screwing this up, and I’m running out of paint already…looks great from several feet away, feels terrible!

If it’s rough now it’s only going to get worse.

you need to resend an repaint. Chances are you didn’t get enough pain on it between coats. You want the paint to be “wet” coated but not enough to run. This will let the pain dry smooth. If you split it to like the droplets dry as droplets and get really rough.
