Any idea on how to make this work in my situation?

Hello, I have done the 997.2 GT3 center rad on my 997.1 and from my experience the top airflow trim (#11 in the PET picture) wont directly fit due to the AC line, garage opener sensor, and the hood latch opener. You would need to move the garage sensor, reverse the hood latch opener, and trim the back and side portion of top air flow trim. Also you won't be able to use the nut (#12) to attach it to the front. Everything else works and bolts on. Most people just leaves out the top air flow trim, but I didn't like how you can see the crash bar if you look down in vent.

I'm moving to Arizona in a few months, so I think adding a third radiator's going to be moving up in my list of priorities. Would like to get this kit so I can save some $$$.

Thanks @Wayne Smith

All that's needed with the duct adapters is the following OEM parts:
  • 997-044-100-05 (997.1 3rd radiator kit)
  • 997-575-141-07 (997.2 Center Duct for 3rd Radiator installation)

Glad I found this thread. I'm thinking of updating my 997.1 with 3rd radiator with a 997.2 front bumper. One of my concerns is the difference ducts related to this update including the center duct for the 3rd radiator. I'll need all 3 radiator ducts. I found the details on the center duct from ECS's site and the PN noted for the 997.2 with 3rd radiator is 99757514107.

Very informative thread and thanks for putting this together. I plan to get the 991 lip spoiler so maybe order your spoiler adapter kit soon.

Just wanted to drop a quick note that I just installed a 997.1 radiator kit on my 997.2 using EMC2's adapter. This kit fit like a glove. Everything lined up and worked perfect. I highly recommend their parts to make the .1 kit fit a .2

Well done EMC2!

Mike

The resultant duct adapter kit that I created for this job (seen in the pics below) is available here: https://emc2design.com/shop-porsche-...ct-adapter-kit

This project was part of a long list of preventative maintenance and mods I’ve been working on which also included installing the center radiator kit on my 2009 997.2 C2 PDK.

Very nice write-up. Thank you! FYI for Cayman and 997 race cars we cut out much more of the lower bumper to facilitate exit of the hot air under the car. So much so that we end up taping the side radiators up in cooler weather. We also install small Gurney flaps in front of the opening to generate an area of low pressure in the hot air exhaust area.

@EMC2 Could you share where you got the grills for the front bumper, they look very "factory"? As an aside I've bought and used your adapter for the front spoiler and love it!
