Not sure it make a whole lot of difference on the center console. Unless the wires are rattling (which they shouldn’t) it sits on carpet and really shouldn’t shift or rub much.

I added a bunch because I was trying to deaden the sound coming from the numeric cables and shifter. When I took it off again to paint I removed everything and it didn’t make much of a difference.

the noises you hear with the console off go away when the console gets put back on sound deadening or not.
