When it rains it pours...
After the dealer fixed my WP, the next day I noticed a puddle of water near the front wheel well. I can also see it dripping underneath
I thought at first it was just A/C condensation. A day later it still leaking so I figured something was not right.
I just spend over $3K for repair & maintenance. I be damn if I have to cough up another G. After a little searching on RL
I knew it was the windshield fluid. Thanks to the DIY here on RL. I thought I give it a shot.
Finally got the tank out after wrestling with the tubes
When I wiggled the pump I can feel fluids dripping. So maybe it has something to do with the
rubber grommet? I decided to put some silicon around the edges. I'll let it dry overnite & add some water
and see if it holds. Otherwise either I need a new grommet or a whole tank and or pump.
It took me about 3 hrs. & the cost was priceless.
Good job. Mine just started leaking too but I let it drip far enough the level dropped below the bad grommet. That'll do for now but I need to do the same, your pics will be helpful. Suncoast sells a grommet replacement kit ($45) that's a little pricey for what you get but it is convenient.
Mine leaked because rubber dried out from lack of use. Dealer told me to use it a few times and it stopped leaking. I had never tried the windshield washer before.

same here,
of the 4 yr I've own the car, I've never use the windshield or the headlight washer. I guess it started to leak when the dealer filled it up.
So the tube that draws the fluid out actually enters the reservoir through a grommet below the level of the fluid? That's redonkulous. What a silly design.
