Default Any idea what switch in battery

New 997 to me. Nobody knows what this on/off Switch is? Any guesses? It’s connected + terminal and doesn’t seem

to do anything. Car starts and drive normally whether it’s on or off.

That was not factory installed. If you follow the wire where does it lead?

I would guess aftermarket electronics of some sort. Or maybe for a battery tender.

Wire goes deep with other wires and was impossible to follow. Could it be related to some kind of tuning box? (chip)

2009 C2S 157K miles

The DME (ECU) for our cars is located under the woofer panel behind the rear seats.... easy to remove. You may want to pull out that stuff and take a peek.

Me thinks it is a switch for an accessory. Maybe pull the side carpet panels left and right of the audio system by your feet.... look for the wire there. Did you pull off the panels around the battery compartment? Easy to do.

Peace

I had something called Priority Start on my 2005 Corvette. The unit would isolate the battery in order to save enough power for a start. The 2005 C6 was loaded with new electronics that would cause the car to often fail to electrically shut down if not done properly like the car had to be parked in reverse.
Priority Start looked different than this unit but it could be something similar.
