Those of you that have done the 997 GT3 Front Bumper Conversion?

997.2 or .1?

I just picked up my front bumper from suncoast. It was $1500 for the kit, and now paint. I have a couple prices but its around $700 to paint it
no other cost involved

Depending on the condition of your original paint, you may need to blend into the other panels
I did the 997.2 conversion. Aside from the bumper itself, there are lots of other parts (ducts, led turn signals) that add to the price
In my 08, the original white paint had faded to different shades all around the car. So, I decided to just paint the whole car, and did a color change at the same time
I can't comment on cost for just the bumper, as my budget has gone way out of control.
Project is almost done

As it's been said above, there are a lot of other things (bumper aside) that drive up costs on the retrofit. I bought the OEM bumper and then just did me due diligence to find out all of the OEM parts I'd need to make the retrofit go as smoothly as possible. I did also manage to retrofit a 997 GT3 Cup third radiator instead of just the regular 997 version since we had an extra one sitting around from race car build.
All in all, you'd be in it for around $5-8,000 depending on whether you're able to find a used bumper or you're only considering new parts.
A little behind the scenes video here:

To do it with new OEM parts for a 997.2 it costs over $8,000 for the parts alone. Plus paint (which should be $600-$1k), and labor if you don't do it yourself.
The aerokit is bumper for the 997.2 is like $2,700 for every part you need, and it's nearly the same as the GT3.... just doesn't have the smile vent on top and front spoiler is different but you can put the GT3 spoiler on the aerokit bumper (though I would not do that as the brake ducting won't be right unless you do some additional mods to make it work right).

If you want to get a better idea of cost, you could always price it out. The bottom was my parts list (the major components) for a 997.2 GT3 bumper.
Not included below are the GT3 center radiator and some different wheel well liners (not strictly necessary, but prob helps).
It assumes you're reusing the fogs and wiring harness from a 997.2.

Parts list question
Thanks for all of the great posts and details guys !
I thought was all ready to go with getting the smile kit for my C2S.1, however, now i am not sure i have the right parts list to accomplish this correctly.
The car came to me with factory installed Aerokit and 3rd radiator, so that's nice.
I am interested in venting above the car for better aerodynamics, so minimal gain really.
What i am struggling with is that the current center rad mount leans the top of the rad back toward the car, which makes sense for a downward flow/exit.
Here is a picture of my car with the bumper removed. I highlighted the radiator angle in blue and the shape of the inlet duct in red.
Here is what i have found elsewhere on this forum for parts that make up the 3rd rad and ducting:
I need to swap out the radiator support for the top-vent version, it will mount so that the radiator is angled with the top leaning away from the car / forward.
The rad support is replaced with part number 997-504-487-92 (part 4 in diagram) and should look similar to this from prior post:
All that makes sense to me as this works with the duct behind the rad (part number 997-504-489-81 (part 11 in diagram)) to vent the air out the top to mate with the "smile-vent".
But if i am to reuse the front inlet duct then the shape would be all wrong, as the top is longer than the bottom on my current duct as it needs to be for my current radiator angle.
It looks to me like there is a different inlet duct part for this top-vent solution... does anyone have a part number for that ? @FutureClassic can you share any details you may have ?

I seem to remember (it's been a few years) that the GT3 center radiator is different from the center PDK radiator on the 997.2 C2S. The only way to get the air to flow up and out of the smiley vent was to install the GT3 radiator, from what I recall. Not sure if this helps.

I did notice in the video his GT3 radiator mount was different from the one I purchased for this mod. The mount in the video had the radiator mounted with inlet/outlet tubes on the bottom where as with mine they are on the top. My car is a 997.1 so it may be different on the 997.2. The Porsche pdf gives one part number for the air inlet from the bumper to the radiator for both the 997S and 997 GT3 which is weird given one car vents out the bottom while the other out the top

After watching the video again, the radiator mount is the same as the one I have but on the 997.2 the radiator is mounted inlet/outlet tubes down. Anyone have info on the radiator to bumper ducting?
