Default Mobile PPI Chicago area

Hi All - First time poster here... I've searched the forum, but can't seem to find any posts that are newer than a couple years old. Given the current covid situation, I figured some of the older posts may not be accurate at the moment.

Can anyone recommend a mobile PPI in the Chicago area? I've found a car that I'd like to get checked out as I would be purchasing it from out of state and would like some peace of mind.

Thanks in advance!

Joey at G design racing is a shop I've trusted and taken my cars to for PPIs

Awesome I’ll look them up. Thank you!

Learned about Perfect Power in Buffalo Grove today as well. They appear to be pretty reputable on this forum so I’ll be looking them up as well.

I can't imagine a mobile PPI is going to do much for you. If you want someone to check brakes, suspension, compression, that's maybe a good bet. But a thorough PPI needs a lift in a shop.

Yes definitely agreed. The place I’m looking to buy from has a clean shop with a lift. I just want a third party inspector that isn’t affiliated with the dealer to give me a bit of peace of mind. Also was looking for a mobile service as I’m not sure how many shops are currently open due to the current situation.

Good, you need a lift to see underneath it. That's a deal breaker lol.

Your main concern is bore scoring. If your PPI doesn't include a boroscope inspection of the cylinder walls from the sump, it's probably not worth doing, IMHO. Tread lightly and good luck!
