Default PCM2.1

On my 997 NON BOSE 2006 CS2 PCM2.1 unit was missing - uninstalled by previous owner.
If I buy used one does it have to be Non BOSE version or it doesn't matter and BOSE version would also work (of course without certain functionalities) ?

Have you seen the Porsche add for the new PCM for the 996? If you go to you tube, and search "Porsche classic better look twice" Apparently the 996 cars fall under the classic category now.

or go to

www.porsche.com/classic-pccm

If you can wait a few years, maybe they will have un updated version for the 997-here is hopping. Lots of options for aftermarket version if there is an empty hole where the radio should be.

Agreed. I'll be a buyer for the 997 version.

And that'll be the moment I'll buy !

I'm hesitant to put it in my 996 as A/C control unit would have to be moved but 997.1 already has got DIN2 radio so would be easy fix

Although I will cringe really hard at the price, I too will be in line for one of those upgraded PCM's - Hopefully Porsche will develop one.
