Christian,
Not to hijack the thread, but the exhaust noise with the stock mufflers is the only thing I don’t like about this car. Every summer I plan on changing it and never get around to it. Maybe this year, 60,000 mile checkup coming up soon.

Exactly that You would put money on it being a flap or a valve ,I was hoping just like my 5.0 XKR that there may be a plug to pull off or a fuse to pull,on the Jag its fuse 19 they have a start up "growl" set up flaps open and a few seconds later they close unless you push the loud button, this works even without the switchable feature, wish the 997 sounded like that all the time, dont like the clever dick snipey replies on here (not by all) every days a school day! Thanks for the replies good people.

Gary,

you have the center muffler bypass, but with the 997.2 that will only get you halfway there. Fister makes an excellent mod, where you can order one of their silencer pairs, and send yours back to them for a core refund, or you can send yours in and they will mod those. The combination of both mods will get you closer to the running sound you are looking for. If you are still left wanting more, you may need to address the entire system including cats.

if it was my comments that came across as dick sniping, I apologize.

the sound difference at cold start to 30 seconds later is all ECU.
