Foxwell NT520 Pro vs NT530
Hello,
I am looking for a scan tool to read overrevs and do some minor reprogrammings <cough> play around </cough> on manual 09 C2S and I ran into Foxwell's website. They have NT520 Pro ($159) vs. NT530 ($169). Not much in the price difference so that's irrelevant but are there any reasons to get one over the other? Logic says to get the latest and greatest but other than what Foxwell website lists, are there any limitations of these 2 units that I should worry about? Will either allow me to read overrevs report?

Thank you in advance

I have the nt520 pro and it will not read over rev report on my 997.2 c2s pdk. There was a thread on here a while back with nt 520 discussions, I believe other 997.2 owners could not get the over rev report either except one person.

Just seeing this as I'm considering one of these for my 2011 GTS. Below is the question I sent to Foxwell Support, with their reply being to "check the features spreadsheet". I have done that and it is not clear what "Engine Data" is included on the ECU function shown. Can anyone (preferably with a 997.2 C2S, 6MT) answer this definitely? Any experience would be most appreciated.
Here is my question:
Will the NT520 or NT530 read and display the Porsche DME Range Report for ignition over revs in Ranges 1 through 6? I am specifically looking for support on a 2011 Porsche 997.2 GTS (Carrera S), 6 speed manual transmission.
TIA for your replies.

Thanks, Jeremy, that is certainly an option. Don't really need either one, but for the lower price and not being VIN specific, the Foxwell has some attraction. Also, being a MAC guy, not needing a Windows laptop is a plus.

On a side note, the durametric pro is available for rent for $50 for those more elaborate functions you may need

Again, thanks for the reply. Any info on how, where I can rent a Durametric? I'm in NE FL near JAX. PM me if you have any leads. Thanks!

Yes their spreadsheet isntexactly clear on what you can and cannot do - I'm very curious if it can do half of the stuff they claim it can. I already have a CReader but tempted to get this and sell one of them after I decide if the Foxwell is better ???

Thanks TJ. Keep me posted on what you find out and I'll do the same. I may have a lead on a used Durametric Enthusiast, but not sure haw many slots it has left. Just put in a request to Durametric HQ for how to tell if it has any left. Will post what I find out.

For those with 997.2 using the Foxwell. Did you follow these exact steps as in this video from 7:40-8:30 mark?? This video is using an older version NT510, but still the same steps I use on my NT520 pro for my 997.1.
If you are having issues reading the dme can the 997.2 owners post photos or a video of the errors they get with the Foxwell NT520 or 530 after following the steps in the video? Maybe that will help troubleshoot this problem and get the info to Foxwell in order to fix it.

Yes I tried the exact same steps but I get all blank values instead of overev info.

When was the last time you updated your foxwell? I know I updated mine recently, maybe a few months ago, when it was announced that they had fixed the "oil reset" function and something else. Maybe this was fixed too??

Yes I have the oil reset update on my unit but still no overev report. Unit is updated, just checked 2 weeks ago for any updates.
