This just happened recently and came back after a reset. Ironically I had purchased all six coil packs and plugs (997.1 H6) but never installed. Now that I have a need to install no longer have the facilities to install myself. So my question is this: Since this is an emissions related code what happens if I continue to drive (like 40 miles) to an independent garage where I want the work done??
Will the DME eventually shut the car down? Or put it in 'limp' mode like so many American ECU's will do?? Just curious what the general consensus is on this? I can always have it towed to garage.
Thanks
Rick

A P0303 is a misfire code. Your engine will be fine and will not go into limp mode.
It may actually clear itself after a spirited drive. Just make sure that all cylinders run.... not only 5 out of 6.

If your check engine light flashes, pull over immediately and shut it down. If it does that it could misfiring so bad that it's dumping unburnt fuel into the cats or doing other damage. Misfires on a single cylinder typically point to something unique to that cylinder ... plug/coil/injector.
