OIL! Bad stories...... what went wrong?
2009 C2S 149K miles
OK, oil threads are like staring at a train wreck.... or watching two drunk Santa's swing at each other.... you can't stop staring.... laugh... or cry. Everyone knows what is righteous and correct.
So...... who used the "wrong" oil and what happened?
Just slayin' dragons.
Peace

Or has anyone used an additive like MoS2 or Ceratec and had a bad experience. Believe it or not, there’s stories out there on those too.

One time my car completely ran out of oil because I thought it didn't contain any because I only ever saw a "710" cap under the lid.

Shame the oil drain plug has little to nothing surrounding it, or enough depth to be tucked away. I ran a fumoto valve on my previous build and it was beautiful to flick the tab open and drain the oil without ever letting go of my beer.

Interestingly, I used MoS2 this year, and ANECDOTALLY, the car runs smoother, and engine revs more freely... could be all placebo, but I kind of forgot I added it, then a cpl of weeks later I was like, how come car runs so nicely and then I remembered, oh maybe it's the MoS2. Adding the same to our VW Tiguan didn't result in any noticeable difference. So, not sure how to conclude anything... but I think I'd continue adding MoS2 for now...

Well KIRKLAND canola spray isn't very good to spray on your food, just use it as a non-stick.......and my ex wife has a leaking oil pan gasket on her 2017 X5 that she traded for with the car I bought her with my own money and as a reward, a $3k bill for the repair. LOL.
I did switch to MOTUL in October.
I also deleted all social media accounts too.
