Default Hand brake button 997.2

Good morning.

My 997.2 is only missing the button on the handbrake. Weird, huh? It works fine otherwise, but I hate it. Were do I get one of these new replacement buttons? I'm hoping I'm not the only person this happened to... Thanks so much.

Unfortunately Porsche doesn't sell it as an individual part. The handbrake is sold as a complete unit. I checked PET to verify and confirmed that it is not even listed as a part. Best bet is to try salvage yards or see if there's an aftermarket equivalent that fits.

I am not sure of your background by my $200 3D printer is great for exactly this type of problem. No one would noticed once it was sanded and painted. Just food for thought, probably the cheapest option.

That’d be the path I’d try with one of the dismantlers that specializes in Porsche such as http://www.ladismantler.com/

If you have a rarer interior color, you could still get a banged up (and thus cheap) black one and move the button from it to your own existing one.

Also, you’ll see people parting out interiors on the Rennlist Marketplace. You might spot an emergency handle for sale there as well.

Karl.
