Default storage solution for carport

Anyone have experience with carports? I am looking for some kind of storage unit that would be secure (lockable) and ideally non-permanent as I am renting. I would use it to store tools and various items.

On that note, I am trying to decide whether to buy a Quickjack or Jackpoint jack stands. Quickjack looks like a great solution, but I would need to devise some way of concealing it and securing the frames to the carport when I am not using it. This doesn't seem too difficult, maybe a J hook to rest the frames on and then some lag screws into the wall so I can use a chain and a big padlock to keep all but the most motivated thieves away. On the other hand, if I go with Jackpoint there is a lot less I have to do as they can easily be stored in some cabinet or bring them into the house when not in use.

The Jackpoint stands are superb. Very stable when the car is on them. I made some 5" spacers from wood and plywood to raise the car a little more for crawling underneath.

I am leaning towards getting the Jackpoint stands, as it definitely seems like "less can go wrong", having read that some people have issues with the hydraulics and need parts sent from the quickjack company.

+1 for jackpoint stands, I find them very useful for most jobs. Note that the height is fixed, so may not fit “all” jobs. And you might find positive reviews for quickjack also. It just depends on what you need a solution for.

Check out lift bars too. I like them better than jack point stands. But honestly, I regret not buying the quickjack

+997 on the liftbars. They are great. I have the quick jack too. It is actually faster to get the car in the air with the liftbars though.
