On my car both front top mounts...the part that has 3 threaded studs that can be seen in the frunk went bad 3 months apart. Replaced them and it drives like a new car.

Final update: the monoball on the left Tarettt camber plate was loose. Cantrell Mortorsports replaced both, aligned and all is good. Thanks for all the input and ideas.

OK, NOT final update. The cluck has moved, right front. I rented chassis ears (specialtyautotoolrental.com). Attached a sensor to the LCA, the strut piston, the strut bolt in the trunk, and the tie rod. The one sensor that responded to every clunk was the one on the LCA. So, looks like I'll be replacing these. Interesting that my inde said it was the strut, which had two sensors and both remained dead silent. I called him today, but didn't hear back, so will talk this through with him tomorrow.
