I am looking at buying a 2009 997.2. It has the Sport Chrono Plus option. The exhaust tips are 2 per side. I thought that all of the non s units had just one large oval tip per side. Are the tips on the one that I am looking at aftermarket?

 

You are correct in your assessment, but it is a common change people do on the non-S cars. It could be 997.1 or 997.2 tips as they are interchangeable. They also could be aftermarket. Look for a number stamped on them to determine what they are.

 

Could it have factory Porsche sport exhaust?

 

No, it does not have the factory sport exhaust.

 

My car came with three sets. It is an 09 S, but the prior owner installed PSE on the car himself and while at it GTS tips ( guess came with the PSE/ GTS take offs?). I sold off the standard S tips to another lister last year. Somehow I also have a set of the non S tips along with a bunch of other stuff he changed out like mufflers, stand rear deck in Polar silver etc.
