Probably best to look at the picture. The new ones don't have balancers.

I went on Pelican's site to look. In short, if the picture (what you ordered) does not match what you got, send them back. Period. Just tell them they don't match the picture and you want to send them back. They are pretty good about this.

The Porsche-labeled Textar pads on my 2009 C2S have the weights on all pads, both sides, front and rear. These weights, I believe, are an anti-squeal technology. These weights are not important for the basic operation and performance of the braking system.

If they match up backing plate and pad thickness dimension wise then they will fit but...the "balancers" are there for their mass to squelch brake squeal. So, you are taking a risk of having brake noise down the road. If it were me, I would not accept the mismatch.

Is your car a base or an S? Do those pads look like the ones you pulled off of the car?

I was on the phone with Glenn from Pelican and he told me Porsche eliminated the weights on their pads in later years because they realized they didn't need them. Since Textar makes the OEM pads for Porsche, when you order Textar pads, they don't have the weights on them now. So if Glenn is correct, then Textar doesn't make pads with the weights anymore. So it's not like I can get different pads... unless I switch brands.

I'm inclined to trust him. But there's a part of me that's hesitant.

I’m following some youtube guides and it went pretty well. Hold the dampener with needle nose and use a flat head to press them in the holes. Then peel off the paper and drop in the pad. That’s all there was to it, unless I’m missing something

Nope, my issue was that the pad prematurely touched one and stuck before seated. It was a PITA to correct.
