Default Can’t open the frunk $&#%€!!!

So I carelessly let the battery go flat in the garage. I didn’t want to leave it unattended on trickle while I was away in Europe.
Trunk wont open. Key 🔑 stuck in ignition.

So, I access the positive tab on the CB panel and attach a jump battery. Well, I can get the key out but the trunk still won’t open.
I attach one of those lipo jump batteries to the cigarette lighter. Window goes down 2 inches and the lock switchlight flashes on and off. Trunk

still won’t open.

At this point , I’m thinking there’s a fuse blown but which one? I don’t have a schematic. I really don’t want to have this towed. Besides, the hook is in the frumk too!

Yank the cable, it can be done with the wheel on. Take the wheel trim off and yank.

How long was the trickle charger on? Try to leave it overnight.

When you hook the jump box to the pull out post on the fuse panel, are you trying to pop the frunk with the switch on the inner door sill or with the button on the key fob? It only works with the button on the key fob in that scenario.

This has to rank up with the top 10 problems Porsche owners experience. I would think you'd need a good strong 12V connection to the fuse box jump terminal. Many people have tried those little portable jump starters, but it didn't work. They have to connect to another car with standard jumper cables. If that doesn't work, you may have to locate the manual release cables in the front or rear.

Initially, I used the sill switch. After calling the dealer, I tried it with all three fobs.

Follow the instructions in the owners manual regarding the fuse box jumper. Make sure it's a good strong donor battery, that you have a good ground AND use your remote fob to activate the trunk release switch not the door sill release.

Anticipating any other suggestions: the dealer said lock and unlock the door with the key. The security may have been activated

You can use a fast charger (not a trickle charger) on the fuse box jumper also. Mine is a 20 year old 6 Amp Century and it works great. Ask one of your neighbors that is into cars, they probably have something like it in the garage you can borrow.

Connect it up and then plug the charger in. You'll hear things turning on and powering up for a few seconds then use the switch on the door sill. I've had to do this several times over the years and it's worked first try every time. Make sure you have a good ground connection, use the silver door latch at the back of the door jamb.

When you first connect the power source all sorts of things start powering on at once so you need enough current to take care of that and also enough to open the latch. It requires a fully charged battery or something like a fast charger that can provide enough continuous current. If there isn't enough current the voltage drops and it's not high enough to activate the frunk release solenoid.

This happened to me last week. I have a Ctek trickle charger that plugs into the cigarette socket. As soon as I plugged it in the car made some clicking sounds and the key released and the trunk opened via sill switch. I left it charging overnight and it started but barely. Car sat for two weeks and was dead. Time for another battery I guess. I can milk this one for a bit by keeping it topped of with the Ctek but a new one is in the cards.

I just called Suncoast about that trickle charger 🔌 $195.
They asked what I planned to do with it and said it wouldn’t work.

What about attaching my 3300 to the door and CB panel?
