Default PCM 3.0 Version V - update

Hello Guys,

I got myself a 2009 C2S convertible a few months back. Checking the PCM version it shows version V. I would like to get the latest version available because the iPhone disconnects from time to time when using the iPod connection.

I don't have map navigation and don't want to pay for it.

What is the best way? I there a DIY method to update only the firmware of the PCM?

I just updated my PCM 3.0 today. 2009 targa4

Mine also showed Version V but at the service center when it was connected it showed 1.10.
My phones (Samsung S7, S8, Iphone 8, none of them worked) did not connect to the pcm and it was quite irriatting.
They first used the 1.4 Multimedia Update CD and my version became 1.40. Phones still did not connect.
Then they used another Update CD (did not show version info) and the Version became 1.47.
Now it's ok and finally I can use my car's phone system

Interesting. My phone won't connect in my 2009 C2S but I bought a Bovee to make the BT connection via the iPod connector. That works great for me but it's good to know I could get the phone to connect if I updated teh PCM version. I haven't checked my version but it's an early 09MY build, Oct '08 so I'm assuming it's an early version unless a PO updated it at some point.

I tried on a friend's car that was 1.41 and it worked there as well but 1.40 did not work for me

My iPhone 7 connects without issues to the PCM even with version 1.10, which is the same as version V it seems.
But there are some bugs from time to time, that's why i'm looking to upgrade.
I have the apple 30 pin to lightning adapter and a lightning extension to be able to have the iPhone on the dashboard.
The Bovee looks interesting but it's expensive and the phone doesn't charge. When I use Waze, the battery drains fast.

It won’t connect at all or it won’t play music through your phone without using the Bovee? My 2010 will connect to PCM for phone conversations but not for Bluetooth music streaming. I use a
Taotronics Taotronics
adapter similar to the Bovee for music streaming and @inception its only $30.

My 2016 Macan has the same PCM but it does connect to my phone for Bluetooth streaming, albeit not very quickly.

My 2009 C2 has version 1.41 on it and I connect through a Bovee. I need to unplug and plug it back in maybe once ever 3-4 months. I never have issues beyond that. It works great.

2010 C2 and Bovee works fine. Just added Echo Auto and they (Bovee and Echo) fight each other sometimes for priority on my iPhone 8 connection but with a change in Settings am able to have Echo win. Pretty cool to turn on and off lights in my home using Alexa in my P car and to call up Sirius or Pandora channels by voice.

2009 C4S and I just added the audio interface. Connection to my iPhone 7 via Bovee works great. Regarding the Bluetooth phone function, my PCM has software version 1.40 and I share the problem that my phone does not connect with the PCM. It can’t even be identified by the PCM as a Bluetooth device. So thanks for info that version V 1.47 works and most likely is the latest version available for PCM 3.0 without GPS.
