I personally like the look of the coupes better than the cab when the roof is up. However, when it came time to purchase a 911 the cab was a no brainer for me. There is nothing like racing along on a nice day with the top down in a 911.

After 7 Corvette targas I bought my first convertible(2006 997 C2S cab) in 2015 at the age of 65. I just sold it to buy a 2009 997.1 Turbo MT cab. I have had it for a month and think it's the perfect car. Fast luxurious, comfortable and great with the top up or down.

I looked at several cabs before getting an 08 coupe. I found a perfect 08 C4S cab in yellow with sport seats. It would have worked as a DD further south, but I was affraid using it all winter with snow and ice would be an issue down the line.

Cabs are nice early to mid morning and as the sun is going down and at night.

When the sun is up, no fun. The sun is way too strong to enjoy. And what is the point of having the top down if you're gonna have a friggin hat on your head.

I know convertibles, I've owned jeeps all my life. I don't even buy them with the soft top anymore. Now the doors off!!! That is unbeatable😎

All in all, thay is why I got a Targa instead.

I don't disagree really, but that's why the top goes up in rain or when too hot and sunny for your liking and down whenever you want.

Cabs are nice if you live in a place where the top is down more than up .. For me I love coupes but have no prejudice towards cabs .. I can say it was much harder to find a well optioned coupe than a cab when I was looking for my 997 c4s. Personally I feel the classic coupe lines can't be beat and cabs in most places are not permitted on race tracks if you ever want to do a track day for the hell of it .

I did not think I would like my GTS Cab as much as I have. Bot it with 11k miles and put on over 30k as my DD. Nothing like putting the top down after a long day at work...

Was hunting for a 991.2 GTS Cab to replace her with but a manual cab gts must be the new unicorn. impossible to find. then realized why? There is nothing else like the 997 GTS (coupe or cab) on the road - it's perfect IMO...

I have had convertibles as daily drivers through many Wisconsin winters. The only issue I experienced was when the rear windows were plastic it was damned hard to scrape ice and snow off. The interior space in most convertibles is small, so heating (or cooling) the inside doesn't take very long. The biggest inconveniences of a convertible (or coupe) is the length of the doors and access to the rear seat. At least in a convertible, you can put the top down to help with rear seat access.

If god wanted the top up, he never would have invented heated seats and layers of Arcteryx gear.

Sometimes I think of the extra weight, cowl shake and other assorted noises you get with convertibles in general. But, I forget all about that when the top goes down.

Cabs are sexy.

I get the coupe experience when the top is up.

I don't like it any where near as much.

If I wanted a track rat, I'd go with a coupe.

Nothing beats a cab on a beautiful day... which is the only time I drive mine. DD duties are for the RR Autobiography.

It’s interesting that when purchased new, the cabrio models are priced about $12k more than the coupe versions, but people here say that cabs go for $5-10k less in the 2ndary market? I wonder why that is.

The desirability of any convertible varies a lot by season and location. To the majority of the population, they are never desirable. It wasn't very long ago that they were all but discontinued by most manufacturers. But that's OK. It means we pay less for our cars... unless we buy them before June. I figure I will keep mine until next March or April, then buy another convertible in July or August.

If the car was for weekend drives and no track use, for sure I would have gotten a cab. However, as a daily driver and with the desire to track or autocross occasionally, the coupe was the result. If I ever have the chance to get a 3rd car for fun on weekends, it'll be a drop top.... maybe a used 718 Spyder years from now.
