Have you tried pulling the fuses one at a time to see which circuit has the draw? That should get you closer to the source of the problem.

Your fuel economy sounds a bit low to me, unless you spend a lot of time above 4500 RPM. Is it that bad on long trips? My 2010 PDK consistently returns 28 MPG (Shell V-Power or Sunoco 93) on 500+ mile road trips, but drops to low 20's around town. My previous 996 C4S 6--speed manual got 24+ on road trips, and about 21 around town.

The 3k Surge is from the VarioCam. Gas Mileage, keep your foot out of it, just kidding... don't do that.

thanks all. you've confirmed i'm not alone with the issues, most of which are fortunately minor and/or resolvable.

The big one is the shift quality. The next raining weekend we get (jfc, will the rain ever end?...) i'm gonna try readjusting the shift lever position. Although skeptical it's worth a try (seems more internal, than external).
