Default 997.1 Bose Radio Replacement – Antenna connection – Please Help

The OEM Bose unit had TWO Farka antenna connections. One Yellow, one Black. Nothing stamped on the back of the Bose unit to provide any detail. Every Head-Unit thread I’ve read mentioned only one Farka antenna connecting to the new HU. Agh….WHICH ONE ??

I have both a single and double FARKA adapter, but the dbl. adapter will not allow two individual connections side by side. Going by their pictures none of them will.
Believe everyone used only one. So, which one did you connect to your new radio, the Yellow or Black?

I think one is for gps and one for radio. Cant you plug it in and power up the unit to see which one gives reception? I thought when i did mine that it only fit in to one of the adapters

Of course that was always an option. Was just looking for confirmation from others.
Thanks for the response.

You may need to bring in the white wire, I tried yellow and black but neither gave great reception. See thread below.

Vern1, great find. Don't know how I missed that. I don't have NAV but I've seen comments that the equipment is the same and it was simply programmed on/off at the factory or the dealer.

Dripola, my Sony HU supplies a powered antenna wire. If this does not work I'll try the white wire.

Many thanks!

No problem. I did not get a new head unit with NAV (just use my phone) so just left the yellow unplugged. I did however tap in to the white acc power wire that comes out of the main power harness as mentioned above

BTW i like the new Kenwood HU but android auto sucks - uninstalled it from my phone it was so frustrating!

Definitely the Black Farka that is to be connected to the Head Unit. Also have the blue HU powered antenna wire connected to the white wire in the factory harness. All is good. Not as good as factory but the reception is close.
Now I just need to find a decent place to stick the XM antenna. They list an alternate site for a cab as inside or outside the front window on the dash or the wiper cowling. I see no reason this also wouldn't work for a coupe. Not thrilled about routing it along the molding and headliner to the roof.

I know that the trhead is 4 years old. It is still of interest in my opinion.

>I think one is for gps and one for radio.
Not sure about that. I checked the antenna cables using a continuity tester. They both go to the antenna control unit (part number 99764712400) for radio diversity. From the antenna control unit two additional coax cables go to the amplifiers in the A-columns, one to the left column (part number 99764711700) and one to the right column (part number 99764711800). In the left A-column there is an additional coax cable connected to the amplifier. This might be a cable leading to the GPS antenna.
So either the 2 cables transport indeed the gps signal and the radio signal from the antenna control unit to the PCM. Or one cable transports the signal from the amplifier in the left A-column as well as the GPS signal (radio and gps are in different frequency ranges so this should be possible) and the other cable transports the radio signal of the amplifier in the right A-column.

Default DVD

The GPS antenna connects to the back of the DVD unit in the boot not the PCM.

Right -- I removed the DVD Drive today and saw the blue GPS plug on the back. So the decoded GPS signal can only come into the PCM 2.1 via the MOST bus as are no other connectors on the DVD drive except for power. So none of the FAKRA connectors on the PCM is for GPS.
So for what is the second coax plug on the white boost amplifier (part number 99764711700) in the left A column?
