I'm one month owner of a Gen 2 and love it. Regarding playing music through the PCM AUX I can access my IPOD Nano but can't see a selection on the source main screen for AUX bluetooth. Phone works through the PCM for calls incoming and outgoing so I know bluetooth is connected to my phone. Reason is I'd rather stream Sirius from the phone than pay for another device. My 2015 Panamera accesses the phone and streams Sirius fine. Wondering if early PCM's weren't set up for bluetooth streaming or do I have a faulty unit. Also the disc player doesn't "read" cd's. I received a 2 year CPO with the 997 so not a worry about cost to repair. Anybody out there streaming music with a 2010 997.2 PCM?
My 2009 won't stream via bluetooth. Not sure what phone you have, but I connected my iphone via an ear phone plug. I can play itunes and sirus but everything has to be controlled through the phone. I have seen a post here somewhere where they connected through the ipad jack with more functionality.
neptune36, unfortunately the 997.2 will not stream audio directly into/thru the PCM to the speakers. To stream without a physical connection you need a BT "dongle" device that pairs to the phone and then hardwires into the aux input port in the center console. The PCM controls the phne very well and on Pandora will advance to the next tune, pause, etc. iTunes also plays tru but will not advance to the next tune. Also no Gracenotes/artist info displayes on the PCM or dash display; just AUX.
The device I used is the Tao Tronics Model TT-BR04 from Amazon Prime, $24 shipped.
Thanks SFZ. That eliminates one trip back to the CPO dealer. I used the Tao tronics on my SeaRayMY and worked well. Its inexpensive too. Maybe I'll cancel my Panamera Sirius contract and stream that PCM then sign on to Sirius for the 997. No Pandora but close. Funny in the big picture how a simple thing like music comes up as a must do. Now on to the other add ons I read on the Porsche Obsession's blog. Center muffler delete, spacers, led's etc. No lack of projects.
The go to device as used by many 997.2 owners is the Bovee 1000 (formerly known as Tune2Air). Connects automatically via Bluetooth and plays live streamed audio or music stored on your iPhone. Also displays the track name etc on PCM. Do a search
