Excuse for my poor English as I am Japanese though I have lived in US for 5 years.
I used only Porsche factory parts, which are listed at the end of this post, and the swap process was pretty straight forward without any hassle.
One unique point of my retrofit is that I used 970 Panamera rear brake caliper instead of 997 GT3/turbo caliper as I happened to get 970 caliper for very cheap and pained it by myself.(Dupli color brake paint yellow" well matches factory PCCB color) You will easily find pair of 970 rear caliper for $250 - 350 on ebay though you can hardly find used 997 GT3/turbo rear caliper. (especially yellow one) You can technically keep using Carrera rear caliper, but 970 caliper has " bridge" on the top of caliper which is similar to GT3/turbo/newer Porsche models. (= you have to remove caliper when brake pad change) Also caliper appearance/shape is similar to gt3/turbo to provide "newer" look in terms of aesthetics, IMO.
For brake performance, 970 caliper has 32/32mm piston over GT3/turbo's 34/34mm. It is obviously front bias than GT3/turbo but more rear biased than Carrera 28/30mm, that is another reason why I don't use original Carrera calipers.
FYI, as far as my knowledge, 970 rear caliper is identical to 991 Carrera caliper as same shape, same piston size and same brake pad. I actually sourced 991 Carrera PCCB brake pad but If I am wrong please correct.
Since I used the cheapest base Panamera black color caliper which works for 330mm disc, I need to add 10mm spacer on caliper leg in order to fit 350mm PCCB, which is same procedure as popular TT 350mm rotor retrofit. If you use Panamera turbo or Panamera PCCB caliper, spacers would not be needed as they have 350mm disc, AFAIK.
For front, I use 997.2 TTS brake rotor. Please keep in mind GT3 front rotor has different lateral side offset and would not fit to Carrera. However I chose GT3 caliper instead of TTS caliper, because GT3 caliper piston size are smaller than TTS and provide firmer pedal feeling which is my preference.
Front Caliper Piston size summary GT3 : 28/30/32mm = 8503mm^2 (100%) TTS: 28/32/36mm = 9746mm^2 (115%) Carrera 36/44mm =10148mm^2 (120%)
Finally front vs. rear bias comparison, as you can see below, GT3 is heavily rear biased. But my set up is slightly less rear bias, but more than TTS. However I am not sure how good my set up is as I do not do any track run and not going to reprogram PSM Anyway slightly less rear bias than GT3 tends not to cause rear slide while braking which is safer for a regular/poor skill driver like me, lol.

Regarding bake master cylinder, you don't necessarily change it, but I installed GT3's one to get firmer pedal feeling.
Result? I am very much satisfied with PCCB brake feeling and its appearance. My primary goal was not performance improvement, but just an interest in PCCB and an aesthetic reason. I am not going to debate pros/cons of brake performance about this retrofit Thanks!!

Incredible detail! Great write up!!! I have landed a set of new 380mm Brembo hats/rotors. I am trying to upgrade the brakes on my 996TT. I run HRE 19" wheels that should clear most calipers on the market. Would like to use Porsche components if possible, but the 380mm stuff is few and expensive on the used market. ANY ideas or suggestions are helpful. Thank you.
