Wing for 997.2 GTS

Well, this topic like most topics could go forever. All I did is show you with pictures that an OEM GT3 set up can be done with minimal effort. Now, wether you need the OEM Aero Kit wing to retain the double "snorkels" that fit exactly over the GTS's intake mouths is up to you. In that case, of course going with a period correct OEM aero kit solution is the best solution, if you can find it. I will reiterate the fact that functionally and performance wise, I have not noticed any negative aspect in my set up above. And yes, though I would not use the term "fashion statement", aesthetically, I like the look of a wing on a 911 any day of the week better than the naked back. It really comes down to personal taste and choice.
What bothers me about PAG is that they market their cars in a very deceiving way... in order to separate so many models, they basically "create" differences amongst them. If you look at their numbers, performance wise, there is almost always negligible differences between neighbors, all attributed to an add on. They add a spoiler kit here, and bigger intake and throttle body there, a "modified cylinder head", lower/stiffer suspension and, voila, you go from a C2S to a GT3, with a GTS stuck in there in the middle with some of the mods, but not all of them. Then you have the GT3 and GT3RS... Then you have The Turbo S and the the GT2. Oh, and there is a GT2 RS!!
The point being I don't think that the GTS's "special intake" is that special. Those resonance valves are there to quiet the car and limit the output of the engine, because otherwise, guess what? You may end up with a GT3 for the price of a GTS. God forbid. The whole Carrera S-- GTS-- GT3--GT3RS thing is silly. Why not have a base Carrera with the numbers of a GTS, and a GT3 with the numbers of the RS and call it a day? Two models: entry and race ready. That's it. Buy whichever you can afford, or suits your needs.
(But since that is not the case, every day we show here that changing intakes, plenums, throttle bodies, brakes, dialing suspensions, adding a wing or spoiler here and there, all at an aftermarket price, will buy you the next level Porsche a lot cheaper than paying the difference between original MSRP's).
If you want an OEM GT3 wing and it does not have the matching orientation of air scoops and snorkels, just change the intake to something that will allow it to fit, and be done. Alternatively, you can buy a GT3 type intake box, throtle body and plenum and also be done with it. You can make it work any way you decide. On the other hand, if your "special resonance intake manifold that feature six vacuum-controlled tuning flaps" means a lot to you, and you are convinced they provide more torque in the mid-rev range, then wait for the $3 Bill OEM Aero Kit. Simple.
Good luck and show us a picture where you're done!!

I’m sure like many of you, I’ve searched for a wing a long time. Every option I found had some limitations and more work required. Then I found NR Automobile Accessories.
They sell wings that mount/replace your OEM retractable wing. This allows you to keep your stock decklid along with the intake setup. They use the stock wing mounting points.
Everything is bolt-on and reversible. Remove the OEM retractable wing and install the new one to the factory decklid.
If you call them, talk to Neil and he will answer all your questions/concerns. They are very knowledgable and helpful in making a decision. They got quite a few Porsche products.
This is their setup for the GT3 wing I just ordered.

I am actually picking up the wing over the weekend and heading straight to the body shop for the paint and install. So, I have not had a chance to get to this yet.
As far as I know, I will need to disable the OEM spoiler as well as the brake light within the spoiler.
My plan is to have the body shop do this (they are Porsche certified as far as I know), or someone else if they are unable.
There is a lot of confusion when it comes to this modification and coding associated with it, so I will make sure I post something after the mod is completed.

So CarID sent me pictures of the wing and guarantee it is for the 997.2. I purchased it and it is on the way. As soon as it arrives I'll update the thread. I ended up purchasing https://www.carid.com/2011-porsche-9...-25586889.html
