997.2 PDK Rattling during Idle
Perhaps this is stupid question and is totally normal but is there anything wrong with my 997.2 with PDK that rattles / vibrates when idling or stopped at a red light?

I also had some vibration when Stopped at traffic lights, I assumed it was my semi solid engine mounts, recently I changed out my ignition coils and spark plugs and the vibrations have gone.

I paid attention today and I think it's coming from the sunroof assembly because when I touch the sunroof or push up through the headliner to some metal bar that goes across (assuming it's the sunroof assembly / engine / support) then it gets a little quieter.
Just can't tell if that's really the issue or if maybe the vibration dampening from the motor mounts are gone... or if this is what it was like new.

Don't bother fixing the loud rattles and squeaks, it serves well to hide the hard to find ones.???.
I had a rattle which I swore deaf, dumb and blind was coming from the passenger door speaker, turned out to be the homelink blanking buttons where the interior light is above my head.
Having solved that, there is a vibration behind my ear now to resolve near the seatbelt/rear quarter window.
Acoustics in the 911 are highly deceiving

Various factors seems to make some engines more noisy or have more vibrations. I drove an 08 without any vibrations, but my car is very noisy/ vibrations.
Try changing your plugs if you don't know the age, I changed my engine mounts but that made no difference. The throttle inlet is also an area that gets dirty quickly and can cause the idle to fluctuate.

I recently changed the spark plugs and cleaned out the air filter box and replaced the air filter. Neither is really impacting the vibration. Really thinking it's the engine mounts not dampening enough of the vibrations which carry through the car and leading to some rattling with the sunroof assembly which may not be super tight.
Not sure what I would do though since if anything, I would want to go towards more performance based motor mounts (like RSS) if I were to replace them and I can only guess that the rattling would be worse. Hope anyone else has some experience with this type of rattling and what they've done to successfully alleviate it.

Installing stiffer performance motor mounts causes retardation in the timing system according to the experts in here. I would replace them with OEM. I'm not saying this will eliminate the rattle but if you must change them I would recommend the OEM mounts.

I think that your guess would be correct. Stock/OEM mounts is what you want. It could be that your engine mounts are shot, or not. There's always some level of NVH (noise/vibration/harshness) in these cars. Many of its assemblies can develop resonant vibrations over time, especially if the car was driven over bumpy roads much.
