997.1 Aero Wing
Has anybody added a 997.1 GT3 wing to a 997.1 S ?
If so, how exactly? I see the air intake opening and venting fan are located differently. Is this solved by changing the S's intake box to a Fabspeed competition type, for example? Any other other way(s)?
Help is appreciated. i am contemplating adding an OEM 997.1 Aero wing to my car but don't want to spend the (sorry, I get the premium, but still ridiculous) amount of money needed before knowing if it will work...
Regards,
Hector

I did on mine. I went with a GT2 wing but do have the GT3 deck lid just for the added air intake reason. Depending if you replace the entire deck lid or just an insert will determine what you need to do to optimize how the air will now flow. As I have the Fabspeed Air Intake System, modifying it to actually breath air on both filters was a major improvement. I cut the second hole on the passenger side and added the X51 airbox funnels so it channels the air directly to each of the filters now. Those were not easy part numbers to find! If you need them let me know and I'll look them up from my receipts. Mine is an insert so I didn't have to remove the OEM spoiler motors but did anyway (and they sold fast). The deck lid is still the factory lid (with my modifications for the second breathing hole), only the original spoiler was removed. Don't forget to have the dealer update your ECU with the spoiler delete option, or do it yourself with the Durametric Pro.

I also forgot to mention you need a new third brake light activation harness. Here are the part numbers for those in need.
997-612-670-71 / Rear spoiler harness, to be fitted when changing the active rear spoiler to a static rear spoiler
997-110-261-40 / Air duct Left
997-110-262-40 / Air duct Right
997-110-252-00 / Sealing bellows Right

That is certainly true too. If you are adding a new deck lid with dual inlets you could certainly benefit from an X51 airbox, Fabspeed or other air intake system to make use of that new fresh air.
Here is the schematic for the stock airbox.

Nice. I have the factory aero kit and it has the two openings in the deck lid, but only one opening through to the air box. Will def order these ducts upon ordering the fabspeed intake.
Thanks very much!!
