Hello,

This is my first post...just purchased the subject vehicle and I am pretty sure I should have bargained a new battery. Nonetheless, live and learn, I am told by the parts department that the car is factory equipped with a gel battery. The Porsche charger I was provided states it is for a Lead acid battery. I have read that gel batteries require specific chargers different from those used on lead acid batteries.

Any thoughts are welcomed, thanks.

Should be lead acid battery. According to online manual on page 248 is says "f you get electrolyte, which is an acid, in your eyes or on your skin, immediately rinse with cold water for several minutes."

don't believe the BS dealers tell you. You can always remove the panel in the frunk and check the battery yourself.
