Default 911 emblem

Why did some of the 997's come with the 911 emblem rather than the Carrera emblem? Was this an option or only on certain models?

Some owners just buy the 911 emblem and replace the carrera emblem. Cannot remember if you could spec it directly from Porsche.

On the 991 and up you could spec from Porsche, 997 just has the standard Carrera emblems.

I also thought some of the stock 997 models came with the 911 but was not sure which ones.

Most people remove the emblems on the back of cars, if they have the base model, and don’t want people to know. Kids do it a lot with BMW 3-series. Why you would do it with an S, I’ll never know.

Lol yes the shame of owning a "base" 911 is too much to bear... can't let the plebs see me driving my not-an-S

Anyway, back on topic, my 911 also came with the model designation delete and the 911 emblem on the back. I love it! Looks awesome.

I prefer the simple but elegant 911 logo on the rear whether you drive a S or non S. in fact I would like to replace my rear model designation with a black 911 logo. Just need to figure out which one I need as there are atleast 3 different 911 logo part numbers.
