I did that two years ago and have no regrets. A very well made product and I have never experienced any loosening. I did this after replacing the front bumper cover, which I did not want to drill holes into. The tow hook point is a "free" connection.

Tow hook mount is a great idea if you only run a front plate occasionally. As a permanent mount, I have always found it to look wonky. It is asymmetrical, too high and it sticks out too far.
