Normally I'd be tempted by something in between -- grey. smoke silver or even matte bronze, but it's tough to find reference photos of this on a Platinum Silver car. The slight gold tint inherent to Platinum Silver is tricky to pair with. You don't want to draw out the gold too much, or it could skew the car too far toward Lexus/luxury, rather than sportiness. A classic bright silver finish on and open mesh wheel with a decent step lip in satin clear is the best idea I can come up with for now.... but I am eagerly awaiting your next move to see something better!
I agree about a bright silver or machined/brushed clear to keep the wheel bright. IMO bright wheels are not only classier and look better on light colored cars, but also give the illusion of being larger than darker ones. Right now I am leaning towards the KL12's just because it's a fully forged wheel and is available in custom offsets and finishes, but like I said I have winter to think about it and things may change.

Agree with above. Bright or machined look rims, no spokes overlapping the rims. Sort of a track car look. The whole offset etc. deal worries me. Prior owner using the stock Carrera IIs added 5mm spacers. With 305's on the back it is a perfect fit with no rub. Want to keep that part of the look.

Offset is key, I believe that the HRE FF01's in 19" are +8mm over the Carrera S II wheels, which would be an almost perfect fit without spacers and the 305's (you would get an extra 3mm of "poke" over what you have now).

Ok, I did some further research:

Carrera S II Wheels
Front: 19x8 et57 (235/35R19)
Rear: 19x11 et67 (295/30R19) - Narrow Body / Carrera 2
Rear: 19x11 et51 (305/30R19) - Wide Body / Carrera 4

HRE FF01
Front: 19x8.5 et50 (+13mm over the Carrera S II)
Rear: 19x11 et60 (+7mm over the Carrera S II N.B.)
Rear: 19x11 et35 (+16mm over the Carrera S II W.B.)

Ok, WheelsB, cruzed your site and came up with these. The first is pretty much the rim and pattern I'm looking for. What else would I really, really like? Instead of the mfg center cap prefer what I got, Porsche jeweled crest. Don't know if that can happen?
the other is the Rotoform Fuchs look. My 951 has those and since a young guy always loved those wheels since late 60's S came out. ( I'm old. )

The HRE 300 is from the appropriately named Classic Series and goes so well with the Porsche 911. We've done it on almost every 911 variation from a Carrera all the way to a GT3RS.

Unfortunately the Porsche center cap is too large for the center cap area of the HRE's. I have seen some here on the forums who found aftermarket Porsche caps with a slightly smaller diameter. There's also the option to do a billet aluminum cap and engrave the Porsche logo in it but that becomes pricey rather quickly depending on how details you want to go with it.

Another great option would be the Rotiform FUC as you mentioned (and see below). Both wheels are custom built to order so you can choose the specs and finishes. Feel free to email me directly if you'd like for me to compare & contrast the two.

WheelsB, how much would the HRE FF01's in Liquid Silver finish run me?

Front: 19x8.5 et50
Rear: 19x11 et60

Do you stock them or is there a wait time? PM please, thank you!

Great photos! I wish I could get some of mine like that.

Love those carbon exhaust tips. I've been thinking about those but the fabspeed's were a bit pricey.

I have a base model too and dropping it and adding 15mm spacers all around is "required". It totally transforms the look of the car. I put Eibachs on mine and I think those are the perfect height. Its about 1" in the rear and a bit more than 1 in front. I would caution going more than that. The car looks slammed and the wheels get tucked under the fenders and dont sit flush.

Ps - get rid of that front plate and accept the consequences :-)

HRE keeps their FlowForm models stocked at their facility in Southern California. At the moment they are out of stock but I am told that they will be back either later this week or early next week. I will PM you now with pricing & more info.

It was a 30 minute install, pretty easy. I did not follow the tutorial, I used screws instead and cut it differently to make it fit more "flush" against the bumper. It is also worth mentioning that the photos do not do it justice, it looks way better in person, like a factory option, I love it!
