Options for Rear Deck Lid Wing
Hi everyone,
So, I know that there are 2 kinds of Porsche drivers here.....the ones that hate the rear wing and the ones that love it. I have always been "wing crazy" on the Porsche. Having said that, I have been looking for the right wing but I have my concerns:
-Fitment
-Visual aesthetic
-Car value depreciation
-Cost
Everything I looked at, my gut is telling me to go with the OEM 997 Turbo complete deck lid.
Would anyone maybe have a better suggestion for a 2012 Black Edition?
Thanks!

I think that would be a great choice.
It requires a bit more work than a simple plug-and-play swap, but it’s very doable.

Are you willing to alter the front to match both aesthetically and functionally? That will help guide your wing options OEM or otherwise:
1) Aerokit
2) Turbo Wing
3) Ducktail
4) Rear spoiler lip or handle
The first three may need something up front to balance for both aesthetics and function. You can probably get away without front modifications if you're just doing a rear spoiler lip or handle.

I had same dilemma and went with this one on my 997.2 C4S. Great quality, price, and fitment. It replaces your stock lifting spoiler so you don't need to replace the entire deck lid. I wanted to keep my rear reflector...

I'm one of the ones that likes a rear wing on our cars.
While doing my research for my 2009 997.2 C2, I became enamored with the factory Turbo wing setup until I priced it out. It would have been my choice since it's what best blends with the car and really "flows" with the body lines. Eventually I went with the Misha GT2 wing since in the long run it was way more affordable once you add painting and fitment... and yes, all aftermarket wings will require some sort of fitment that will go from slight tweaking of edges to outright modifications. Lucky for me the Misha wing fell into the first category.
That was some two and half years ago and so far I'm pleased with the results. Here's a picture of the finished product...

Guys have been putting wings on 911's since the dark ages. My first 911sc I put a wing on it and all was good at it was a simple swap back to stock. Fast forward to todays 997, I looked long and hard at what was available and decided that a factory TT tail was the right choice for me. I searched Ebay and Rennlist weekly until I found e fellow member who had a TT tail in my color with a fixed wing. This was important as the stock Hydraulic rams fail and are expensive. IIRC I had to buy a fixed tail harness and get the car coded to the same. But it was a quick painless process. Since I have a widebody car, it fills in perfectly.
The Misha tail was a second choice.
