I've been meaning to reply to this. You mentioned that you've got a 40k flower pot now, but all hope is not lost. You can continue to enjoy the car for several thousand more km. I'm running a 50/50 mix of the reccomended 5W40 and 5W50 Castrol Edge Classic car formula (with a high Zinc package) in mine. Two bores scored and still going, just based on noise alone the engine is much happier with the added Zinc. She's drinking about 1.5L/ 1000km but sounds happy for the time being. I'm conscious about the fact that time is limited,so for daily driving during the summer months I warm up gently, shift at 3200rpm with the occasional run to 5 or 6k. No need to take unnecessary risks now
